Private hospitals have slashed the prices of SII’s Covishield and Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin vaccines to 225 per dose in a major move. Adar Poonawala, CEO of the Serum Institute of India, announced on Saturday that the price of Covishield has been reduced from Rs. 600 to Rs. 225.
“We are pleased to announce that SII has revised the price of COVISHIELD vaccine for private hospitals from Rs.600 to Rs.225 per dose, following discussions with the Central Government.” “We applaud the Centre’s decision to open the precautionary dose to all 18+,” he wrote on Twitter.
