India’s daily Covid cases crossed the 3,000 mark for the third time this week. The nation witnessed 3,688 fresh infections in the last 24 hours. 50 deaths were also reported taking the total toll of deaths from the pandemic to 5,23,803.
1. This week, there were over 18,300 cases reported.
This week, India has reported 18,319 new cases ( 3,377 on Friday; 3,303 on Thursday; 2,927 on Wednesday; 2,483 on Tuesday and 2,541 on Monday.)
2. There are currently 18,684 active cases.
The number of active cases increased by 883 on Friday. Active cases account for 0.04 percent of all cases in the country.
3. In a single day, Delhi records over 1,600 cases.
According to news agency PTI, which cited authorities, the national capital remained among the top contributors, reporting 1,607 new cases of Coronavirus on Friday. In Delhi, two new deaths have occurred in the last 24 hours. The capital’s current positivity rate is 5.28 percent.

In the last 24 hours, Maharashtra has reported 148 new Covid cases and two fatalities. West Bengal has reported a total of 52 new cases. According to data shared by news agency PTI, Telangana saw 32 new cases on Friday, while Odisha saw ten new cases.
5.On Friday, 5.20 lakh vaccine doses were administered.
Covid-19 vaccination coverage in India has reached 188.87 crore people. In the last 24 hours, more than 20 lakh (20,30,807) vaccine doses were administered, including 2.20 lakh booster vaccine doses.
