The Twitter account of Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) was briefly hacked. The state government said “strict action” will be taken against those involved. The account has four million followers and was hacked at around 12:30 am on April 9.

A post based on a tutorial called ‘How to turn your BAYC/MAYC animated on Twitter’ was posted from the UP CMO account after being hacked. The profile picture of the account was replaced with the image of “Bored Ape NFT”.

Hackers also posted a thread of some random tweets on the account which were later removed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Twitter handle was also briefly hacked earlier this month.
