The feature, dubbed ‘Message Yourself,’ is scheduled to arrive on WhatsApp in a future update. Android users likely to be the first to experience it in a forthcoming 2.22.24.2 upgrade. Users can see their own number among their WhatsApp contacts in the current beta build.
Messages you send to yourself will sync faster and better with other devices if you use WhatsApp’s multi-device feature. The self-texting feature is presently available in WhatsApp beta for iOS version 22.23.0.70 and WhatsApp Android version 2.22.24.2.
The announcement follows the launch of a feature called Conversation Links on the Meta-owned messaging platform, which enables users to hold a group call using a URL, much like the Google Meet or Zoom call invite systems. These connections enable up to 32 people to join a call simultaneously. Additionally, the link is active for 90 days.
The messaging platform has also given thought to enabling users to amend messages that have already been delivered. To maintain openness in communication, WhatsApp beta testers should anticipate seeing a “Edited” label under messages, as was developed for the newly released version 2.22.22.14. From what we currently know, WhatsApp will give users 15 minutes to edit their messages once the feature is live.
