A Norwegian EV startup called Fresco has unveiled an 8-seater all-wheel-drive electric vehicle that it claims can travel 1,000 kilometers on a single charge. Fresco Motors earlier unveiled a concept car called the Reverie, showing off its first electric car a few days ago.
The electric car called the Fresco XL appears to be a stylish sedan with many of the characteristics of a minivan or MPV.
The name XL probably indicates the space it provides inside. The image of the car shared by the startup doesn’t give the impression that it can seat eight people. Its seats can reportedly fold flat for sleeping on board.
According to the automaker, the Fresco XL is equipped with four electric motors, a two-way charging port and a huge battery with a range of 1,000 kilometers.
Fresco hasn’t shared too many details about the XL EV. It has only shared videos of the model on its social media platforms to see when and when it will go into production. However, Fresco opened an order for the XL EV for €100,000, roughly Rs 8.6 lakh.
The eight-seat Fresco XL electric car was designed by Espen Kvalvik, founder, CEO and chairman of the Norwegian electric vehicle startup. He had said earlier that the XL EV offered a new design language, moving away from the old sedan-like design. He had earlier described electric vehicles as “fresh air”.
Fresco Motors, named after American futurist Jacque Fresco, was founded in 2017. Fresco’s previous concept car, the Reverie, never entered production after it was introduced in 2019. Fresco claims the Reverie can reach a top speed of 300 km/h and can go from zero to 100 km/h in just two seconds.
