Ashton Kutcher, star of “Jobs,” has spoken out about being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called “rare form of vasculitis,” which left him unable to see, hear, or walk. In the Monday episode of the National Geographic programme “Running Wild with Bear Grylls: The Challenge,” the actor revealed his diagnosis.

In a video clip posted by the entertainment programme Access Hollywood, Kutcher said, “Like two years ago, I had this weird, super rare form of vasculitis, that like knocked out my vision, it knocked out my hearing, it knocked out like all my equilibrium.”

The 44-year-old further stated in the video that it had taken him a year to start over in life and that he was “lucky to be alive.”

When you realise that you may never be able to see again, you don’t really appreciate something until it’s gone. I’m uncertain as to whether I will ever be able to hear or walk normally again. I’m fortunate to still be here, he said.

Kutcher posted a clarification on Twitter after the video went viral on social media, claiming that the health scare occurred three years prior and that he has since fully recovered.

There are a lot of rumours, chatter, and other things out there before. Yes, I experienced a rare case of vasculitis 3 years ago. Following the autoimmune flare-up, I experienced some hearing, vision, and balance problems. I was fully restored. All is well. Going forward Bye, bye.
