The central government has decided to ban 59 popular Chinese apps including TikTok, CamScanner in India. According to the report of ANI, the Government of India has issued this public order to all these Chinese apps keeping in mind the unity, defense and security of the states.
Apart from the TikTok short video making app, 59 popular apps including DU Recorder, Vigo Video, Likee, Helo have been banned. This is a major decision of the Central Government amidst the escalating situation on the border between India and China for the last few days.
TikTok has millions of users in India. Not only TikTok, the Zoom video calling app has also been banned in India. There was a demand to ban these Chinese apps many times in the past. Reports of users’ data being stolen through Chinese apps were surfacing many times. The government has decided to completely ban these 59 Chinese apps to protect users’ data privacy.
According to the list shared by ANI, TikTok, Shareit, Kwai, UC Browser, Baidu map, Shein, Clash of Kings, DU battery saver, Helo, Likee, YouCam Makeup, Mi Community, CM Browsers, Virus Cleaner, APUS Browser, ROMWE <ClubFactory, News dog, Beauty Plus, WeChat, UC News, QQ Mail, Wibo, Xender, QQ Music, QQ Newsfeed, BigoLive, Selfie City, Mail Master, Parallel Space, Mi Vide, WeSync, ES File Explorer, Viva Video, Meitu, Vigo Video, New Video Status, DU Recorder, Vault-Hide, Cache Cleaner, DU Cleaner, DU Browser, Hago Play, Cam Scanner, Clean Master, Wonder Camera, Photo Wounder, QQ Player, We Meet, Sweet Selfie, Baidu Translate, Vmate, QQ International, QQ Security Center, U Video, V Fly Status, Video, Mobile Legends, and DU privacy apps.
