The section will provide an overview of the types of data that each app collects, as well as how that developer uses that data.

Developers have been asked to clearly mark what data is being collected, and signify how it’s being used in their apps.

Notes on the following topics will be included in this section:

  1. Is the developer collecting data, and if so, for what purpose?
  2. Whether or not the developer distributes data to third parties
  3. The app’s security practises, such as data encryption in transit and whether users can request data deletion.
  4. Whether or not a qualifying app has agreed to abide by Google Play’s Families Policy in order to better protect children in the Play store.
  5. Whether the developer’s security practises have been validated against a global security standard.

Developers must complete this section for their apps by July 20th, or face penalties and the possibility of being removed from the marketplace.
