Twinkle Khanna wonders if Kareena Kapoor and her sister Karisma Kapoor “romance” Akshay Kumar is a good thing. She said it’s just proof that women have shorter careers in the film industry, while men can continue to work with a new generation of co-stars.
Twinkle and Kareena sit down for a chat, which has been shared online on the Tweak India YouTube channel, where they discuss Kareena’s career and recall each other’s humorous anecdotes.
“It’s so weird, I’m in a relationship with all of Lolo’s co-stars. So weird, because of Akshay’s first shot, I’m wearing a school uniform. It’s been so long, but I can see how good he is…” Jingying interjected “Well, maybe not. It just shows that here, men can have such long careers, but women come and go.”
Kareena said her continued success has proven that idea wrong. Shining agreed. She also noted that their two families were intertwined, and for a while, there were rumors that Raj Kapoor was the biological father of her mother, Dimpur Kapadia. “For the record, he’s not,” Twinkle said. There are also rumors that Rishi Kapoor is her biological father. “Seriously, he’s not,” Twinkle clarified again.
Kareena has worked with Akshay on many films and he has also worked with Karisma on 13 projects. The actor was last seen in a cameo on Atrangi Re, which debuts on the Disney+ Hotstar in late 2021. He has a few movies in line. These include Bachchan Pandey, Raksha Bandhan, Ram Setu, Prithviraj and more.
Meanwhile, Kareena will next face off against Aamir Khan in Laal Singh Chaddha, the official Hindi remake of the Hollywood blockbuster Forrest Gump.
