Two terrorists from Pakistan’s Lashkar-e-Toiba were killed by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Friday. After receiving information about the presence of terrorists, security forces launched a search operation in Brar in the Aragam area.
Faisal alias Sikander and Abu Ukasa were both identified as terrorists who were killed. Along with terrorist Haider, Faisal was involved in the murders of three police officers on December 10 and February 11 in the town’s Gulshan Chowk and Nishat Park. The duo relocated their base to central and south Kashmir, where they continued to terrorise the region.
On the nights of May 7 and 8, Haider was eliminated in a battle at Devsar in Kulgam. On April 13, he was killed alongside another terrorist, Shahbaz Shah of Kulgam, who was accused of killing a civilian, Satish Kumar Singh.
Following the assassination of Haider, another terrorist, Faisal, relocated to Budgam, where he was joined by Ukasa. The two Lashkar terrorists returned to Bandipora after the murder of Kashmiri Pandit employee Rahul Bhat in Budgam on Thursday. Following a tip, the police were able to track down their hideout in Aragam and eliminate both of them in a 24-hour operation.
