Pro-Khalistani and pro-Shiv Sena activists clashed in Punjab’s Patiala town on Friday. Police had to fire in the air to bring the situation under control. Clashes began after members of the Shiv Sena brandished swords and stones at each other. A curfew has been imposed in the southern Indian state of Chhattisgarh (Haryana) following clashes between rival factions. The curfew is in place till 6 am Saturday after incidents of breach of peace and disputes between different groups, police have said.
