UK Sikhs push back against anti-India forces, pass resolution thanking PM Modi

Britain’s Sikh community has started to fight back against an anti-India movement led by the Khalistan faction. The latter has organised numerous protest marches in the UK over the past few months.

But on Sunday, leaders of the Sikh community gathered at the Gurdwara Shri Guru Singh Sabha on Southall Park Avenue and passed a resolution thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government for Sikhism The community has done so much and helped bridge the misunderstanding.

They also thanked the Prime Minister for proclaiming December 26 as “Veer Baal Diwas” and declaring it a public holiday.

Among the congregation, Sikh leaders and the head of the Gymnasium committee’s office questioned those pushing “factually incorrect” narratives about India and its current government, their statement said.

The passage of the resolution was seen as a bold step by the local British community, which has so far remained silent and chose not to confront the few Khalistani propaganda anti-India rhetoric.
