$700 million weapons package is likely to be unveiled on Wednesday. Weapons have Himars, high mobility artillery rocket systems. Can hit targets as far away as 80 km (50 miles), reported news agency Reuters. The missiles can strike with ‘precision’ at long-range Russian targets.
US Vice-President Joe Biden has announced that the US will provide Ukraine with more advanced rocket systems and ammunition. The package includes Javelin anti-tank missiles, anti-armour weapons, as well as ammunition and surveillance radars for use in Ukraine.
Thousands of people have been killed in the war-torn country due to Russia’s constant shelling and bombing. Millions have also been displaced and were forced to leave Ukraine.
