PM Narendra Modi led the BJP to create history in Uttar Pradesh. The party won more than 250 of 403 assembly seats. Akhilesh Yadav had been taking on the BJP on a gamut of issues. The Congress and Mayawati’s BSP were also among the challengers.
Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party was projected as the first runner-up. He has alleged manipulation of EVMs ahead of counting of votes.
