Uttarakhand Battered By Rain, Flooding, PM Speaks To Chief Minister

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dami talked to assess the situation in Shan State after heavy rains and floods.
“Prime Minister Modi spoke with CM Pushkar Singh Dhami of Uttarakhand and Minister Ajay Bhatt from Uttarakhand. The Prime Minister assessed the situation caused by the heavy rain in the state,” the source said.
Yesterday, Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh of Uttarakhand, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This happened during periods of heavy rains and floods in the state.
Earlier, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand obtained detailed information from officials who were concerned about excessive rainfall in the state. He has been checking the situation in the Disaster Control Room of the Secretariat of State.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert to Uttarakhand, and it is expected that there will be heavy to heavy rainfall in the state on Monday.
The Meteorological Department said in the Daily Weather Bulletin issued on Monday morning: “In the remote areas of Uttarakhand and West Uttar Pradesh, heavy rain to extremely heavy rain is extremely likely, and extremely heavy rain is extremely likely.”
As a precautionary measure, Badrinath Yatra has been suspended and passengers on the way to Badrinath were stopped in a safe place.
