Malayalam film producer Vijay Babu has been booked after an actor filed a sexual assault complaint against him. In a social media post, Babu accused the complainant of blackmailing him and also named her. The actor alleged Babu threatened to release her intimate photos and videos.
Kochi film-maker Babu is reported to be absconding from the southern Indian city of Kochi in the southern state of Kerala. Babu denies the charges and threatens to file a defamation case.
In 2017, another woman filed a similar complaint against him but later withdrew it. Babu’s film Sufium Sujathayum was the first Malayali film to be released on an OTT platform.
