Walk-in OPD at Delhi’s AIIMS temporarily closed from April 8

In the country’s capital Delhi, Corona’s havoc is increasing rapidly. Every day 4500-5000 new cases are being filed here. In the midst of the rising havoc of Corona, the Kejriwal government has also imposed a night curfew till April 30. Amid growing Corona cases, the AIIMS administration has decided to discontinue the OPD once again. OPD of Delhi AIIMS will be closed from Thursday (08 April).

Medical Superintendent of Delhi AIIMS told Indian Express that walk-in registrations will be closed from Thursday. Acting Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Siddharth Satpathy said that in the last few months, the number of patients registering after reaching AIIMS had increased gradually. He said that it was not good to be so crowded after the increase in Corona cases. He said that the administration has taken this decision after consulting the AIIMS director.

The order issued by the AIIMS administration stated, “With a view to reducing the possibility of an outbreak of Corona epidemic, it has been decided to discontinue the walk-in OPD. Along with this, instructions have been given to all departments to reduce the number of people who register online and set a daily limit. Let me tell you that even before the Corona period, OPD services of AIIMS have been stopped many times.
