Virat Kohli hit a “rare” six on the first day of the ongoing third Test match between India and South Africa in Cape Town. During his gritty 79 overs, the Indian red captain hit 12 fours and one six. According to prominent statistician Mohandas Menon, it was also Kohli’s fifth six in a cricket Test since 2019. Menon also went on to add that batsmen Rohit Sharma, Mayank Agarwal and Rishabh Pant have had very different fortunes compared to Kohli. During the same period, Rohit hit 51 sixes, Mayank hit 25 and Pant hit 18 max.
India were knocked out in the first inning as most of the batsmen were disappointed except for captain Kohli. KL Rahul smashed a ton in the first Test and could only add 12 points to the scoreboard.
His opening partner Mayank also added 15 runs for 35 balls.
Under fire Cheteshwar Pujara missed the half-century beard, smashing 43 of 77 balls.
Ajinkya Rahane’s poor form continued as he only managed nine runs from 12 balls.
Labada is at his best in South Africa and has taken four wickets in 22 rounds. Marco Jansen also sacked 3 people, Duanne Olivier, Lungi Ngidi and Keshav Maharaj were sacked each.
