- On Friday, some of Abhishek Banerjee’s loyalists took to Twitter to support the one-person-one-post policy that Mamata had relaxed in November last year.
- As the name suggests, the one-man-one-post policy refers to a political leader taking a position in government. Standards have been relaxed for some MLAs that also compete in the Kolkata Municipal Corporation. Firhad Hakim currently holds two positions; he is Minister and Mayor of Kolkata Municipal Corporation.
- Tweets in support of the one-person-one-post policy include Abhishek Banerjee’s cousins Akash Banerjee, Agnisa Banerjee, and Aditi Gayen.
- At 3.30pm on Friday, Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya tweeted in support of the one-man-one-post policy. At 4:5 p.m., the tweet was deleted, with the minister claiming that I-PAC was posting on her behalf without her knowledge.
