WhatsApp has entered the application market for more than a decade, and 13 years will be completed in February next year. Some people may say that this is an app that helps them communicate with their relatives, friends and family, but that’s all.
WhatsApp has never been regarded as a “cool app” like Instagram or Snapchat because it lacks all the features that make it look cool. It is an application whose sole purpose is to connect people through chat, audio or video calls.
But over the years, we have seen WhatsApp try to change itself, and continue to try to introduce some new features, somehow bring it “wow factor”. It started with an update launched by iPhone users in 2009, and until now we have gone through many of their updates and they have been trying to attract audiences.
WhatsApp is developing a new feature that allows users to send media as status updates. This means that when you share your picture or video with someone, you can now choose to set it as your status, and you can even choose the recipients who can receive the picture, just like you do on Instagram .
As WABetainfo reported, WhatsApp will provide an option to allow users to have different recipients, or whether they want to update their status when sending photos or videos in the chat. This feature will enable users to update their status very easily when sharing any media they want to send to their friends individually.
This month, WhatsApp is offering its users a beta version of its Android application, which will allow them to choose the recipients of status updates before uploading any form of media. This option will allow them to restrict who can see their status and who cannot.
People have also seen them use another edit recipient feature, which will enable users to select or delete people who will receive certain photos or videos from their contact list. Although this should be released in the most recent Android beta update, the update never entered the beta phase.
With this update, WhatsApp is developing a “new camera” feature, where the flash option on the camera has moved from the bottom to the upper right corner. In addition, this change will allow users to access recent photos instead of flash options.
This edit recipient update will be made for iOS and Android, but as of today, there is no timeline for when this feature will be available to its users.
