WhatsApp recently released a feature that allows users to change the playback speed of voice messages. The company now plans to release another feature to provide a better experience for users who use voice messages.
It is developing a “Global Voice Message Player” so that you can listen to voice messages even after leaving the chat. WabetaInfo says that when you play a voice message and leave the chat, it will be pinned to the top of the main application. The source cited says that the app will display voice messages at the top of every section or chat you visit.
WhatsApp will also provide the option to pause and close voice messages at any time. This feature may be useful when you receive a long voice message. “In this case, you can continue to send messages to other contacts while listening to the voice message,” WaBetaInfo said. This feature has been found in the iOS beta, but it is not available to everyone.
The source cited also claims that in future updates, the same feature will also be launched for Android users. In addition, WhatsApp has also enabled end-to-end encrypted backups for Android and iOS users. It allows users to protect their chat backups on Google Drive. The company stated that if you want to protect your chat backups with end-to-end encryption, you will need to choose a personal password or a 64-bit encryption key.
People will witness this feature in the 2.21.21.5 Android WhatsApp version and 2.21.200.14 iOS version. WhatsApp is also developing a feature called “default message timer”. This will allow you to start the conversation in disappearing mode. Currently, if you need to use Vanishing Mode, you must manually enable it.
