In a recent interview, actor Randeep Hooda talked candidly about his relationships with his co-stars. In an interview with Humans of Bombay, he discussed how working on Sarbjit strengthened his relationship with Dalbir Kaur and why Alia Bhatt was “terrified” of him on the Highway sets.
On the set of Imtiaz Ali’s 2014 film Highway, Randeep was questioned if it was true that he didn’t speak to Alia. He said it in the positive, adding that the actor was so afraid of him that she wouldn’t even sit next to him. “When we shot for Highway, I didn’t talk to Alia for 20–25 days,” he stated. “To maintain her fear of my character, she used to be afraid of me. She was this girl from Juhu who had not seen much of the world; she had not had much exposure,” he continued. I took care to ensure that. I never had a conversation with her. She refused to sit next to me as well. That is the desired outcome for the film.
Randeep Hooda talked candidly about his equations with Highway co-star Alia Bhatt in a recent interview.
Additionally, Randeep claimed that he had real-life changes as a result of seeing the 2015 movie Main Aur Charles and the 2016 movie Sarbjit. “Through filming, I became close to Sarabjit’s sister, Dalbir,” he remarked. We continued to communicate until her death. I lit her funeral pyre as per her request. She was a kind woman who took care of her brother’s kids, with whom I have had conversations. He then teasingly said, “In a similar vein, I also had communication with Charles Sobhraj.” Charles, you are a wanted criminal; please stop calling me. He used to call, message, and video call me from the jail in Nepal.
Soon, Randeep will appear in the film Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, where he portrays Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. Alongside Ankita Lokhande, Amit Sial, Rajesh Khera, Lokesh Mittal, and Brajesh Jha, the film is a biographical drama directed by him. The film was originally slated for director Mahesh Manjrekar, but withdrew owing to artistic issues.
