Microsoft has begun to roll out Windows 11 in India. You can use the latest software through free upgrades on eligible Windows 10 computers and new computers pre-installed with Windows 11.
The company announced that “new pre-installed Windows 11 devices have begun to roll out from partners such as Asus, HP, and Lenovo, and will soon come from partners such as Acer and Dell.” Microsoft said that new Windows 11 users will be shown and need to accept the Microsoft software license terms after selecting “Download and Install” to start downloading. If your PC is running Windows 10, you can use the PC Health Check application to check whether your device is eligible for upgrade.
This will basically check whether your PC meets the minimum system requirements required by Windows 11. Then you can check whether the Windows 11 upgrade is ready for your specific device by opening the Windows update settings. Just go to “Settings”> “Update & Security”> “Windows Update” and click “Check for Updates”. If your device is eligible and ready to upgrade, you will be able to see download and installation options. If you are ready to install Windows 11, just select “Download and Install”.
The latest Windows 11 software update brings a new user interface and performance improvements. People will also see a brand new Windows application store. It provides a new center-aligned taskbar and start button. Microsoft has removed the live tiles that have existed in some form since Windows 8.
You will now see a grid of icons that can be rearranged and pinned to the new start menu. There are rounded corners, and widgets that include calendar, weather, sports leaderboards, and more. The new operating system also brings an improved system tray with a new split notification and quick operation UI. In addition, Microsoft said that the new update will provide users with faster and more efficient performance, with a 40% smaller background update.
