Air pollution is a mixture of solid particles and gases in the air. Car emissions, chemicals from factories, dust, pollen and mold spores may be suspended as particles. Ozone, a gas, is a major part of air pollution in cities. When ozone forms air pollution, it’s also called smog.

Air pollution has become one of the biggest problems for both developing as well as advanced countries. Many nations including India are struggling to contain toxic air and improve air quality.

What is more worrisome is that 21 of the world’s 30 most polluted cities are in India, with six of them in top 10, according to IQAir AirVisual’s 2019 World Air Quality (WAQ) report.
