Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday conducted an aerial survey of flood-affected regions in the state after large swathes of land were inundated by the overflowing Saryu and Tapti rivers originating in Nepal. Adityanath announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of those who died due to drowning or attack by animals during the floods.
The CM further said that families of farmers who lose their lives will get Rs 5 lakh each under the Farmers’ Accidental Insurance scheme. “An assistance of Rs 95,000 will be given for houses damaged in the spate. Homes that got washed away in flood waters are being repaired under the Chief Minister Awas Yojana,” he announced. The CM conducted aerial survey in Gonda, Bahraich and Balrampur districts and also interacted with affected citizens. He also distributed relief materials to the people.
