587 candidates file nominations for 40 seats for Goa Assembly polls

As many as 587 candidates have submitted their nominations for Goa’s 40 parliamentary seats, which will be voted on on February 14, an official statement from the chief electoral officer said on Friday.

Submissions for poll nominations began on January 21 and ended Friday afternoon.

“On the first day of nominations, 21 January 2022, a total of 3 candidates submitted their nominations. On the second day (24 January 2022), 18 candidates submitted their nominations, 25 January 2022 Day – 50 candidates submitted their nominations on January 27, 2022, with 262 submissions in one day, and on the last day of nominations, January 28, 2022, a total of 254 nominations were submitted,” the statement said.

After the last day of nominations, a total of 587 candidates submitted their nominations.

Nomination review will be completed today and the last date to withdraw candidates is January 31, 2022.

Goa is scheduled to go to a parliamentary vote on February 14. Counting will take place on March 10.

In an interview with Times Now, she questioned whether she joined politics due to her movies’ poor box office performance, comparing it to Shah Rukh Khan’s previous unsuccessful films.

Kangana responded to a question about her career, stating that she has never had a flop. She compared Shah Rukh Khan’s films to Pathaan, Queen, and Manikarnika, noting that if she had a flop in Emergency, it would be a big hit. Kangana compared her career to Shah Rukh Khan, who had consecutive flops for ten years. She also mentioned that she had not had a single hit for 7-8 years before Queen, but after that, she had a few good movies.

The last generation of stars, known for their talent and demand, are now able to showcase their talents more through OTT.
