66 Lakh White-Collar Professionals Lost Jobs Between May And August 2020 In India: CMIE
The private think-tank ‘Center for Monitoring Indian Economy’ (CMIE) estimated that between May and August 2020, over 66 lakh white-collar professionals lost jobs in India. These include software engineers, physicians, teachers and accountants. According to CMIE, the employment of professionally qualified workers has fallen to 1.22 crore which is the lowest level since 2016.
