The film’s director Aarti had said in a conversation with HuffPost that there are not many films made in India regarding the science fiction genre. So I wanted to make something that is local and people in India can also relate to it. I wanted to put all those stories in a science fiction story, which we have been hearing since childhood.

She further said that I did not pitch this film to anyone. I only went to those people who trust me and I told them that I am working on a project. They knew that I was not joking and they had decided to join me. I told them about the concept of cargo. Apart from this, most people are new to the whole creative process. This is the first film of the film’s cinematographer, editor, VFX artist, music producer. Cargo is produced by Anurag Kashyap and the executive producer of this film is Vikramaditya Motwani. The film is going to be released on Netflix on September 9.
