TATA Projects secures ₹2,100 cr order for Chennai Peripheral RR Project
TATA Projects Limited announced on Monday that it has secured an order of 21 billion rupees for the first phase of the Chennai Outer Ring Road Project (Northern Port Corridor), which will include the strategically important Ennore Port and Saqiu on the AH-45 Are connected. The project includes a connection road from the Northern Port Passage to the Chennai Outer Ring Road. The six-lane project has a total length of 25.31 kilometers, including a 1.4-kilometer bridge across the Buckingham Canal, and is expected to be completed in three years.
The project has a total of 26 structures, including 8 main bridges, 8 secondary bridges, 2 highway bridges, 7 under-vehicle/vehicle flyovers, and 1 overpass.
It also includes 29.38 kilometers of drainage ditches and 41.88 kilometers of retaining walls. The company said in a statement that once completed, the project is expected to reduce traffic congestion and travel time, while improving road safety and highway operation efficiency. The concept of Chennai Peripheral Ring Road is to provide better connectivity around the city to meet future traffic needs and provide efficient commercial traffic by enhancing port connectivity.
The project will be divided into five parts. The first section is 25.31 kilometers long and connects Ennore Port and Sachuer NH-16 (the old NH-5-Chennai-Kolkata Expressway). The second section is 26.20 kilometers long and will connect Thatchur NH-16 (old NH-5-Chennai-Kolkata Expressway) and Tiruvalur Bypass NH-716 (old NH-205-Chennai Tirupathi Expressway). Stretch 3 is the longest, over 30 kilometers, and it will connect Thiruvallur Bypass NH-716 (old NH-205 – Chennai Tirupathi Highway) and Sriperumbudur NH-48 (old NH-4 – Chennai Bangalore Highway).

The Adani Enterprises unit has received a letter of approval for an NH project in Maharashtra
Adani Road Transport Ltd (ARTL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Enterprises, has received LoA for a project involving six laning of Kagal-Satara section of NH-48 (old NH4) in Maharashtra. The project will be executed under the Bharatmala Pariyojana at ₹2,008.47 crores. The construction period for the 67-km long road project is expected to be 2 years from the date of appointment and the concession period will be 18 years.
With this project award, Adani’s road portfolio will have total 14 projects with more than 5,000 lane km with asset value exceeding ₹41,000 crore spread across India.
