My parents were superstars but they didn’t behave like that: Saif
Saif Ali Khan confessed to his acting career and the pressure to maintain his parents’ “legacy”. The actor recently appeared in the Disney+ Hotstar movie Bhoot Police and previously appeared in the Amazon Prime Video series Tandav.
Saif said in an interview that he entered the film industry in a different way, which may be contrary to what was considered normal at the time. Speaking of his famous parents, actor Shamila Tagore and legendary cricketer Mansour Ali Khan Patadi, he told the Indian Express, “My parents are superstars, but they didn’t do that. . And it’s easy to take yourself too seriously, whether it’s a group of bodyguards around or that kind of atmosphere.
You can’t blame someone who doesn’t understand. You don’t have to be dazzled by success.” He further talked about Pataudi’s “legacy” and stated that the basic thing any actor wants to do when he enters the industry is to maintain rather than be “ridiculed.” He explained: “You don’t want people to abuse you or throw rubbish at you in Gaiety Galaxy. This is not why you entered the film industry. I don’t have the same psychological approach as my contemporaries. Some are well-deserved superstars, some It’s a superstar from their first movie to the present.
My performance or the audience’s liking for me has always been a mirror image of my mental state. Because of my growth and education, I have a very international view of things. Westernized Anglicization is the opposite of Hindi movie heroes. They are not very masculine. They speak softly. It’s a different standard. It doesn’t really solve it for me.”

After The Kapil Sharma Show aired on television for the last year, the comedian moved to streaming services in 2024 with The Great Indian Kapil Show. Actor Huma Qureshi was a permanent visitor on the TV show Madness Machayenge-India Ko Hassayenge, which briefly filled the hole created by the departure of the former show. But it didn’t quite click with the public, and according to recent rumours, the channel has added comedian Zakir Khan to help fill the void with a new programme.
Comedy and shayari will be mixed together in Zakir Khan’s presentation.
We now know some exclusive information about the show, such as its schedule and format. According to a source with direct knowledge of the situation, “Zakir’s show will feature a trademark Zakir blend of humour and shayari. With this programme, the comedian hopes to reach a larger audience. He has already developed a following of people who identify with his shayarana side. Madness Machayenge is now airing and is most likely coming to an end. Zakir’s television programme is scheduled to premiere in August. Bollywood visitors will appear on the broadcast in addition to Zakir’s shayari and comedy, much like it used to happen on Kapil’s show.” This is Khan’s second television appearance following his work on the fifth season of The As a mentor in the Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2017. In addition, he hosted the comedic non-fiction programme Farzi Mushaira on OTT, combining humour and shayari with well-known guests.
Recently, filming for Kapil’s OTT show came to an end, and there were rumours that this was because of the show’s poor viewership. The cast of Heeramandi, American singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, and actors Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor, among others, were disclosed in a video that the crew published to refute the rumours. Regarding Madness Machayenge, the television programme that took Kapil’s position, director Karan Johar blasted it for his repulsive impersonation on the show. The full guest list for Zakir’s programme has not yet been announced.
