Scientists at CDRI Lucknow develop drug to treat dengue

Scientists at the Central Drug Research Institute of Lucknow (CSIR-CDRI) claim to have developed a drug to treat dengue fever.
According to the report, a pharmaceutical student in Mumbai has obtained permission from the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) of India to conduct human testing of the drug.
Trials will be conducted in 20 cities across the country.

1. A medicine extracted from plants, called AQCH, is essentially antiviral. It has been successfully tested in the laboratory and on mice.

2. The trial will be conducted at a medical college in each of the following cities: Kanpur, Lucknow, Agra, Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Aurangabad, Ahmedabad, Kolkata , Bangalore, Mangalore, Belgaum, Chennai, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Visakhapatnam, Cuttack, Khurda and Nathdwara.

3. Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial (GSVM) Medical College in Kanpur, King George Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow and Sarojini Naidu (SN) Medical School in Agra will hold exercises in Uttar Pradesh. In each center, a total of 100 patients will receive this treatment.

4. Dengue fever patients should be at least 18 years old to be eligible to participate in the trial. In addition, the patient’s infection should be confirmed 48 hours before the test.

5. The patient will be hospitalized for eight days, during which time he will take medicine for seven days. He will be observed for 17 days after taking the medicine.

6. It should be noted that there is currently no cure for dengue fever. Treat patients based on symptoms.
