Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan’s bail plea rejected in drugs case

Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan Khan, will not get away with impunity today because the conference court rejected his bail in a drug case. He was sent to judicial detention on October 7th for 14 days and has been detained in Arthur Road Prison ever since. After the Narcotics Bureau strongly opposed Aryan’s bail request, Aryan’s lawyer argued that Aryan had not found any contraband and he would not tamper with the evidence. However, the NDPS court ruled that Aryan’s custody should be extended, and the star’s son will remain in Arthur Road Prison.

In his bail application, Aryan stated that he was “innocent” and “wrongly involved in the current crime” and promised not to tamper with the investigation or abscond. Although the NCB claimed in its response to the bail request, the materials compiled during the investigation showed that the first defendant (Aryan Khan) played a role in illegally purchasing and distributing contraband. NCB alleges that Aryan purchased contraband from Defendant No. 2 (Arbaaz Merchant) and recovered 6 grams of Charas from it. The investigative agency also stated that Aryan Khan was in contact with people who appeared to be part of the international drug network. Update again, NCB submitted a new revelation to the court on October 20. ANI quoted the NCB as saying and said on Twitter: “The police found a WhatsApp chat record related to drugs, allegedly a conversation between Aryan Khan and a debut novel.”

Aryan Khan and eight others have been booked under Section 8C, 20B, 27 (Punishment for consumption of any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance), 35 (Presumption of culpable mental state) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act), 28 and 29.

In prison, Aryan Khan has been detained in a special barracks and is closely monitored by officials. Soon after he was sent to the judicial detention center, Shah Rukh Khan remitted 4,500 rupees to the prison via a money order to pay for his son’s canteen. The prison director Nitin Waychal has confirmed to ANI that the prison authorities received a draft of Rs 4,500 from Aryan Khan’s family on October 11. According to prison regulations, prisoners can receive a draft of up to 4,500 rupees to pay for their expenses in the prison. Last week, Aryan Khan had the opportunity to talk to Shah Rukh and Gori Khan for the first time in 12 days. He was allowed to make video calls with his parents, a facility introduced by prison authorities during the pandemic last year for inmates to communicate with their families and lawyers. “Aryan gave his mother’s phone number. He spoke with his parents through the video call facility for 10 minutes,” a senior prison official confirmed.

Family Star review

The Hindustan Times’ review of the movie Family Star, starring Vijay Deverakonda and directed by Parasuram Petla, suggests that the film struggles to make a mark or entertain, with issues reminiscent of Geetha Govindam (2018). The film tests patience and fails to maintain interest as it progresses.

The review criticizes the plot of Family Star, stating that it is thin and defies logic, making it difficult to enjoy. It also suggests that the film’s portrayal of middle-class life is caricaturish, as if it was written by someone unfamiliar with the realities of such a life.
