China’s national legislature claimed that China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity were “sacred and inviolable” and passed a new law on the protection and development of land border areas, which may have an impact on the border dispute between Beijing and India.

According to the official source, members of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress approved the law at the closing meeting of the Legislative Assembly on Saturday.

Countries should follow the principles of equality, mutual trust, and friendly consultations to handle land-based border affairs with neighboring countries through negotiations, and properly resolve disputes and long-standing border issues.
