Woman who ‘met’ Sheena Bora ready to record statement: Indrani Mukerjea’s lawyer
Indrani Mukerjea’s lawyer, Sana R Khan, said Wednesday that she told Indrani Mukerjea that the woman she saw alive at J&K Sheena Bora was preparing to record her statement. The lawyer told the news agency ANI that the woman claimed to have met Sheena Bora near Dal Lake on June 24, 2012. “We will submit an application to instruct the CBI to conduct a fair investigation,” the lawyer said.
The six-year case related to the arrest of Indrani Mukerjea in 2015 for the killing of her daughter Sheena Bora caused ripples again because Indrani Mukerjea wrote to the CBI that Sheena was still alive. In her letter, she claimed that a female government official told her that she had met Hina. CBI took over the case in 2015 and has completed its investigation. The CBI did not take Indrani Mukerjea’s letter seriously because they believed it was just to prolong the case. CBI has closed its investigation and concluded that Indrani Mukerjea murdered her daughter Sheena Bora in 2012 with the help of her driver Shyamvar Rai and second husband Sanjeev Khanna. Indrani does not approve of Sheena’s relationship with Rahul Mukerjea, who is the son of Indrani’s third husband, Peter Mukerjea. Sheena had threatened Indrani and she would reveal to everyone that she was Indrani’s daughter, not her sister, as Indrani used to tell people. The heinous murder case surfaced three years later in 2015, when the former driver of Indrani Mukerjea was interrogated by the Mumbai police in connection with other cases.
Three years after Hina Bora was killed, burned, and buried, the body was exhumed and sent to a forensic medical examination. It was confirmed that the cause of death was strangulation and there were no fractures in the bone structure. However, Indrani claims that this is not Hina’s skeleton because Hina is still alive and studying abroad.
