Anushka praises Delhi man who was called ‘mad’ for rescuing a pup
Actress Anushka Sharma shared a touching video of a man expressing his love for a puppy despite being called “crazy”. The video, which appears to have been filmed in the Old Delhi area, shows a man holding a puppy in his arms, despite people around him laughing at him for it.
The man gave the puppy a kiss on his paw when another man nearby called him ‘paagal (mad)’. The other man then tells him to take the puppy home, at which the first one says that he will. “Ye dekho godi mein lelia maine (See I am holding it in my arms),” he said. He added that people should help the voiceless and feed the puppy biscuits. He then asks those shooting his video, “Paagal bata rahe. Batao main paagal hu ji? Ye kitna accha sundar pilla. Ye bolta nahi hai kuch bhi lekin pyaar itna karta hai (He’s calling me mad. Am I mad? This is such a nice puppy. He says nothing but loves everyone a lot).”
The video was shared on Instagram by Derry Humans. Many people commented under the post praising the man’s efforts. “A lot of respect for him,” said one comment. “Such a beautiful person,” another commented.
Anushka also shared the video on Instagram Stories, writing: “Paagal toh woh hain jo insaaniyat nahi samjhein, aap toh… (It’s crazy for those who don’t understand this kind of human nature. You are. …..)” Anushka also added applause and heart symbols to her post.
Anushka is an avid animal lover and often speaks for their better treatment. In 2020, she voiced her support for stricter laws against animal cruelty. She started a digital campaign #JusticeForAnimals demanding amendment of The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960. “I really wish we have stricter laws against animal cruelty and they are exercised and executed in a way that there is fear in people. They shouldn’t be able to think that they can do something like this so easily and can get away with it by paying a small fine,” she had said in a statement.
Anushka is married to cricketer Virat Kohli, who also founded two animal shelters in 2021.

The actor was featured in a new interview with producer Karan Johar and co-star Rajkummar Rao, which was posted on Dharma Productions’ official YouTube channel. Janhvi talked candidly about being “sexualized” from a young age.

Janhvi responded, “I feel like this is also an aspect that I have been navigating for a long time,” when Karan questioned her about how she felt about the ongoing objectification she deals with. I believe the first time I experienced media sexualization was when I was between the ages of 12 and 13. My parents and I went to an event. I was featured in photos and social media was just getting started. When I discovered my photos on what appeared to be a pornographic website, the boys at my school just stared and laughed.

She went on, “I have been navigating it for a very long time, and it is a very weird thing to do.” I need to move past the fact that I feel like I apologise a lot for my origins. Other people, I’m sure, handle it in far more varied ways. I continue to believe that my explanation of it and my personal experiences are extremely privileged. However, it was difficult. When a girl wears clothing that suggests she is at ease with her sexuality, she is subject to a form of character assassination.
Janhvi plays a doctor who loves cricket in the film Mr and Mrs Mahi. Rajkummar, who plays her husband, trains her to be a cricket player. Directed by Sharan Sharma, the movie opened in theatres on May 31.
