Irrfan Khan died in Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on April 29, 2020. In 2018, the late actor was diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer and was treated for nearly two years. Irrfan’s death was commemorated on Friday for the second time. With a statement on social media, Irrfan’s son Babil Khan recalled him and reminisced about the time he spent with his father. Babil penned a long comment on Instagram about how he wasn’t ready to move on after sharing a photo of Irrfan. “Dear Baba, I’d want to express my heartfelt gratitude for all you’ I’m trying to recall the scent you wore on our trip to Norway to watch the lights dance. I recall the sensation of your scent well, but not the materiality of it. I recall the touch on my fingertips as you spread my hands to tell my fortunes, but forgetting your playful pinch on my nose makes me nervous. I’ve pleaded and wept to the gods to please don’t let my body forget yet, since my spirit isn’t ready to give up. I’m not ready to move on yet, and I’m fine with that. “You and I, solitary and cosmic,” he said. Everything is, and yet it isn’t; in my asylum, you’re a beautiful teardrop. I was aware of my violent intonations, but I forgot about them. In my thoughts, you still breathe; and our institutions of craziness. I miss what I battled for: your quiet explorations. Babil, this is an invention of yours.”

In 1995, Irrfan married Sutapa Sikdar, whom he met at the National School of Drama. Babil and Ayan are the couple’s two sons. Irrfan Khan is most known for his work in Hindi cinema, although he has also appeared in Oscar-winning films such as Life of Pi, The Amazing Spider-Man, and Inferno. With Qala, Babil is ready to make his Bollywood debut. The picture, which also stars Tripti Dimri, is produced by Karnesh Ssharma’s Clean Slate Filmz and has yet to see the light of day. In addition, he will appear in the online series Railway Men.
