‘Rishabh Pant is a brilliant cricketer. He’ll go on to skipper the national team,’ says an ex-India hitter
While Kuldeep Yadav spun his web around Kolkata Knight Riders’ batters to help Delhi Capitals win by four wickets, Rishabh Pant was chastised for not bowling all of the chinaman’s overs. In the game against KKR, Kuldeep took 4/14 but only bowled three overs, prompting Pant to be questioned about his captaincy decision. The young wicketkeeper batter stumped the opposition and took a stunning low catch, but he failed to make an impression with the willow. He died after scoring only two runs, leaving his team stranded at 84 for five in a 147-run chase.
Rishabh Pant led the Delhi Capitals to the playoffs last year but they could not advance. Raman believes he has a great cricketing mind, but is still on a learning curve. Former India batter Raman sees him captaining even the national team in future.
“Pant, I believe, will go on to captain the national team, but when that happens, we’ll have to wait and see. For the time being, he must learn the ropes as a captain over the next one to two years “Added he.
Raman went on to discuss the Capitals’ middle-order meltdown against Umesh Yadav, who came back 3/24 to trouble the opposition batters. Before Rovman Powell hit an unbeaten 16-ball 33 to help Delhi win two crucial points, David Warner, who scored 42, fought alone at the top.
“I believe they will need to give some thought to their middle-order and how it will develop. They appear to be a well-balanced team, and what matters at this stage is what happens if the openers falter.”
Delhi Capitals are sixth on the table with eight points after four wins in eight games. On Sunday, they will face the Lucknow Super Giants (May 1).

Anushka Sharma was in full cheer mode as she rooted for her husband, Virat Kohli, and Team India during the India vs Australia Test match in Perth on Saturday. The actor was spotted enthusiastically cheering him on from the stands, and fans were totally loving her vibe. The actor was spotted in the stands during the ongoing Test match between India and Australia at Optus Stadium, Perth. Anushka kept her look simple in a white T-shirt teamed with denims. Several photos and videos from the stadium featuring the actor have surfaced on social media.
In one clip, she is clapping for the team, while in one she is standing with a plate in her hand. She was also spotted celebrating along with Sanjana Ganesan when Harshit Rana took Virat Kohli’s advice to dismiss Mitchell Starc.
Before the opening test got underway, Anushka and Virat along with their kids were spotted spending time in Perth. In the photo, Virat and Anushka are seen sipping coffee with their daughter, Vamika, sitting in a stroller.

Fans were thrilled to see Anushka come out to support her husband and took to social media to express their admiration for the couple. “She is the great support of Kohli. Great couple,” wrote one user, with another sharing, “Queen supporting the king”.
“Bhabhi ji in the house,” exclaimed one user, with another mentioning, “Bhabhi ji arrived”. “Kohli’s ladyluck,” read one comment. One user wrote, “Anushka Supporting her charm”. “Queen of cricket,” gushed one user.

Anushka and Virat welcomed their elder daughter, Vamika, on January 11, 2021. They once again became parents to their younger son, Akaay, on February 15, 2024. They have not shown either of their kids’ faces to the world.
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli divide their time between London and Mumbai as they have houses in both cities. Anushka has been away from films since her last release, Zero, in 2018. She finished Chakda Xpress, the biopic of Jhulan Goswami, in 2022. However, the film is yet to get a release date. Chakda Xpress is slated to be released on Netflix.
