After the failure of Dhaakad at the box office, Kangana Ranaut begins work on her next project
Kangana Ranaut has begun work on her next project just days after the release of her film Dhaakad, which did not perform well at the box office. Kangana Ranaut’s second directorial effort, Emergency, follows Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. The actor flew to Delhi to begin filming scouting.
“Rekee day one… don’t mess with me is my resting pose,” Kangana captioned a photo from a location on her Instagram Stories on Monday. She also posted another photo with the caption, “I’m most at ease as a filmmaker out of all the roles I’ve played. #Emergency.” Kangana Ranaut is seen in a white salwar-kurta with her team members at a location.
“Pleased to wear director’s hat again, after working on Emergency for more than a year, I finally figured no one can direct it better than me,” Kangana wrote on Koo last year when announcing the project. Collaboration with fantastic writer Ritesh Shah, even if it means foregoing various acting assignments, is something I am determined to do, and my excitement is high. My leap to another league is going to be a huge adventure #Emergency #Indira.”
Ritesh Shah, who also wrote Dhaakad, is the author of Emergency. In an earlier statement, Kangana clarified that Emergency is a political drama, not a biopic. “It is not Indira Gandhi’s biopic,” she said in a statement last year. It’s a magnificent period piece. To be precise, it is a political drama that will aid my generation in comprehending India’s current socio-political landscape.”
In addition to Emergency, Kangana has Tejas scheduled for release. In the film, she portrays an Air Force pilot. She’s also finished filming Tiku Weds Sheru, a film starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur. She also teased a sequel to Manikarnika and Sita: The Incarnation.
