Brad Pitt’s legal battle with ex-wife, actress Angelina Jolie, has resurfaced with new allegations against her. Brad’s legal team has claimed in court documents that Angelina has tried to intentionally harm him by attempting to harm the reputation of the wine business they once jointly owned. The allegations are part of Brad’s ongoing legal battle with Angelina Jolie over the sale of the aforementioned winery.

When Brad and Angelina were dating in 2008, they bought a controlling interest in Château Miraval, a vineyard and home in the South of France. In 2014, the location was also used as the location for their wedding. Angelina Jolie sold her stake in the company to Tenute del Mondo last year. Brad claims this is a breach of trust because they agreed not to sell their respective interests in the family business without the consent of the other.

According to a report in People Magazine, Brad has claimed in his most recent court filing that Angelina deliberately’sought to inflict harm on’ him with the sale. According to the documents, while Miraval was Brad’s passion project, Angelina contributed “nothing to Miraval’s success.” The brand grew “into a multimillion-dollar global business and one of the world’s most highly regarded producers of rosé wine” solely due to Brad’s efforts.

The filing from his team states, “Jolie pursued and then consummated the purported sale in secret, purposefully keeping Pitt in the dark, and knowingly violating Pitt’s contractual rights.” Yuri Shefler, a Russian businessman, owns and controls Tenute del Mondo, the company in which Angelina sold her stake. Brad’s team claims he’s “desperate to seize control of Miraval.”

The documents accuse the company of using ‘cutthroat business tactics and dubious professional associations,’ which ‘jeopardises the reputation of the brand Pitt so painstakingly built,’ according to the documents. “Jolie has attempted to force Pitt into a partnership with a stranger, and worse yet, a stranger with poisonous associations and intentions,” they continue.

After meeting on the set of their 2005 film Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Brad and Angelina began dating. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt married in 2014 and have six children together, two of whom Angelina had adopted before meeting him and whom Brad later legally adopted. They welcomed three biological children as well as another child they adopted together. Angelina Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason. In 2019, their divorce was finalised.
