Taapsee Pannu, a co-star in Shah Rukh Khan’s movie Dunki, discusses what she says to him “every time”
In Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki, Taapsee Pannu will play Shah Rukh Khan’s first-ever female co-star, and she described getting the role as a “great opportunity.” The actor claimed that because he, too, had modest beginnings like her, Shah Rukh’s career in the film industry has always been personal to her.
After Dunki hit the floors in April, Shah Rukh Khan and Taapse have already wrapped the first schedule. Taapsee discussed her path from working with Shah Rukh infrequently in Badla to costarring with him in Dunki. Taapsee had earlier appeared in Badla, a 2019 Shah Rukh production.
When you eventually get the chance to work with him (Shah Rukh), it becomes the perfect opportunity, she told PTI. It doesn’t get any worse when you consider that Rajkumar Hirani, whose movies are masterpieces, will be directing it. I have no idea how I’ll ever improve.
“He comes from Delhi, same place as me, began from nothing,” Taapsee continued. I use every opportunity to inform him that he is someone we regard as extremely personal. His story seemed too personal to me even before I met him because of how he began and expanded his own business. She added, “From there to doing a film with him as after working with him on Badla.
Dunki, a movie supported by JIO Studios, Red Chillies Entertainment, and Rajkumar Hirani Films, is scheduled for a December 22, 2023, cinema debut. Taapsee tweeted after Shah Rukh revealed the movie in a video in April: “Yes, it has been difficult to get here, and it is even more difficult when you are on your own. However, as a famous person once said, “If you wish for something with all your heart, the entire universe conspires to get it for you.” Cheers to honesty, hard work, and perseverance. It took over ten years, but at last, “All is Well.””
Along with Dunki, Shah Rukh has Pathaan and Jawan by Atlee and Siddharth Anand in development. Next up for Taapsee is the biography Shabaash Mithu, in which she portrays former Indian captain Mithali Raj. On July 15, the movie will be released in theatres.

After being offended by his impersonation of Karan Johar, comedian Kettan Singh apologises, saying, “Didn’t want to hurt.”
Kettan Singh apologised to director Karan Johar on social media after the latter called him out.
After seeing a video of Kettan Singh making fun of him, Karan Johar became irate.
On Sunday night, filmmaker Karan Johar expressed his dissatisfaction with a TV programme advertising in a rare Instagram post. Without naming the show, the comedian, or the station, Karan claimed to have seen a comic make fun of him in an awkward way. Many speculated that Karan was referring to the trailer for Kettan Singh’s Madness Machaenge. Now, the comedian has addressed Karan’s critique.
Kettan’s regret
In an interview with Times Now, Kettan stated that his goal had never been to harm Karan. “I want to apologise to Sir Karan Johar. First of all, I am a fan of Karan Johar’s work and perform all of my impersonations since I see him a lot on the coffee programme. I’ve seen Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, his most recent movie, five or six times. I adore his presentation and his body of work. I want to apologise to him if my actions caused him any harm. I didn’t mean to do him any harm. I just intended to amuse the crowd, but if I went above and beyond, I apologise to him.”
Karan most likely only saw the promo and not the entire programme, according to Kettan. “After seeing the episode, I’d want to see how people and Karan sir respond. I hope not to insult you, sir. Not many artists imitate Karan, sir. A few years back, I used to do it on The Kapil Sharma Show. It was my first time doing it on Madness Machayenge. He answered, “Aside from my apologies, I have nothing else on my mind.
The post by Karan Johar
“I was sitting and watching television with my mum… and saw a promo of a reality comedy show on a supposedly respectable channel… a comic was mimicking me in exceptionally poor taste,” captioned Karan Johar’s Instagram post. I anticipate this from trolls and anonymous individuals, but it says volumes about the times we live in when someone in your own field can treat someone who has over 25 years of experience with disdain. This doesn’t even enrage me; it simply makes me sad.”
