Men fight too, but we don’t refer to them as dog fights, says Huma Qureshi

According to Huma Qureshi, calling conflicts between males “dog fights” is misogynistic because men also engage in physical conflict. Currently, Huma is benefiting from the success of the second season of her well-liked online series, Maharani.

Double XL, which Huma is now working on with Sonakshi Sinha, is her upcoming project. The first image of both Huma and Sonakshi has been released, and the movie also stars Sonakshi’s rumoured boyfriend Zaheer Iqbal.

Huma told ETimes, “They are not rumours, people fight, but I believe catfights are such a patriarchal way of phrasing it. Men fight a lot more than women. We don’t refer to conflicts between men as “dog fights,” do we? People fight because they can’t stand one another; it’s not because of gender; sometimes some people don’t get along with one another. I believe that women are portrayed as competing with one another a lot more. Men, in my opinion, compete more. If you visit a gym, you will understand exactly what I mean. Everyone is just interested in examining each other’s bodies and has no interest in exercising.

Speaking of her project with Sonakshi, Huma remarked that because Sonakshi is a close friend, making the movie was special and enjoyable. “Women are significantly more secure in our company than men, if I may say so without coming off as arrogant. I believe it will be very difficult to get two people to work on a movie because they would always be comparing their biceps. Women simply have a horrible reputation, in my opinion. Working with other girls is fun for me.

Huma has a number of intriguing projects planned. These include Dinesh Vijan’s Pooja Meri Jaan, Double XL, and a biopic on celebrated culinary writer and chef Tarla Dalal. She also has the Vasan Bala-directed Netflix original film Monica Oh My Darling.

Sonakshi Sinha admits on The Great Indian Kapil Show that, when given Alia and Kiara’s example, “mujhe zor se shaadi karni hai.”

Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sanjeeda Shaikh, and Sharmin Segal—the cast of Heeramandi—will be the show’s guests.

The female cast of Heeramandi, Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharmin Segal, and Sanjeeda Shaikh will be featured in an upcoming episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show. In a new trailer for the episode that Netflix India unveiled on Wednesday, Kapil was seen making fun of Sonakshi’s wedding preparations.

The Heeramandi cast was seen in the teaser queue for panipuri at the stand, where Kapil was the vendor. “Bhaiya, sab ke liye paanipuri (serve for everyone)!” Sonakshi begs. In response, Kapil states that none of them would be served since they are not the ones who will call him “brother” or “bhaiya.”

Richa required the most retakes overall.

Manisha Koirala claims in another scene that there was anxiety before every scene on the set. The cast is then questioned by Richa about how many retakes they had ever had. Sonakshi responds that she didn’t need more than 12 tries. Everyone is shocked to learn that Richa offered 99 retakes in her response. Kiku Sharda made an appearance in one episode dressed like a courtesan, and his antics made everyone laugh.

Sonakshi discussing her wedding arrangements

As this is happening, Kapil informs Sonakshi that Alia Bhatt and Kiara Advani are now wed. “Jale pe namak chirak rahe ho,” is her response. He knows how much I want to be married, therefore you are adding salt to my wounds, woh janta hei mujhe kitne zor se shaadi karni he.”

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is the director of Heeramandi, which debuted on Netflix on May 1. The show tells the tales of courtesans and their clients against the turbulent backdrop of the 1940s Indian freedom movement, exploring the cultural milieu of the vibrant Heeramandi region.

You can watch The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix.
