Shreya Chaudhry: There are no bad people but bad situations in relationships, my mom warns me

In the film Conditions Apply, directed by Puja Banerji, actors Shreya Chaudhry and Mrinal Dutt collaborated to depict the complications of a contemporary love that go beyond the happily ever after. We all crave unconditional love, but there’s always that one condition, as Shreya, who plays Nayantara, said in an interview with Hindustan Times.

“It’s about the circumstances we all grow up in while we are seeking unconditional love,” continued Puja Banerji, who also wrote the screenplay for the movie. Overall, whether unconditional love exists at all or even if it even has conditions is an issue.

Mrinal Dutt, who played Rahil in the movie and acted opposite Shreya, adds a masculine perspective. The story’s plot revolves around a couple who decides to go a couple’s retreat after falling out of love. It prompts discussions about the challenges and expectations of a contemporary partnership. According to Puja, our parents were more open to the idea of us saying, “This is the person I have to love for the rest of my life, possibly. They wouldn’t pass up the chance to criticise one another. Our generation is notorious for making snap judgments. For example, if something isn’t working, let’s move on—there is someone else. It’s the generation of dating apps.

The significance of consent is emphasised in the movie. Mrinal, the actor from His Storry, explained his position by saying, “Consent applies equally to both. It’s a very fine line. They assert that “if it’s not a very enthusiastic yes, then it’s a no,” yet our video does not address this. It’s intriguing to see the interpretations that others are forming on the bits. However, people must be informed about it.

The theme of the narrative is giving a second opportunity to love. Do the actors and the director personally believe in it? Yes, but you also have to be thoughtful about who you are giving the second chance to, Puja Banerji added, remembering instances in the past where she later regretted giving someone several chances.

Similar like Puja, Shreya is willing to give herself a million chances when it comes to romantic relationships in general. “When it comes to relationships especially, I think there aren’t any bad individuals; there are just awful conditions. Like every mother, my mum advises me to exercise caution. One had to be careful about offering a second chance, she reasoned, keeping in mind the circumstances of today.

Mrinal acknowledged, “Love drives you to do insane things. One must comprehend the circumstances. I think in second, third, and fourth chances, but only when they’re truly merited. Where it isn’t, one should simply leave.

After being offended by his impersonation of Karan Johar, comedian Kettan Singh apologises, saying, “Didn’t want to hurt.”

Kettan Singh apologised to director Karan Johar on social media after the latter called him out.

After seeing a video of Kettan Singh making fun of him, Karan Johar became irate.

On Sunday night, filmmaker Karan Johar expressed his dissatisfaction with a TV programme advertising in a rare Instagram post. Without naming the show, the comedian, or the station, Karan claimed to have seen a comic make fun of him in an awkward way. Many speculated that Karan was referring to the trailer for Kettan Singh’s Madness Machaenge. Now, the comedian has addressed Karan’s critique.

Kettan’s regret

In an interview with Times Now, Kettan stated that his goal had never been to harm Karan. “I want to apologise to Sir Karan Johar. First of all, I am a fan of Karan Johar’s work and perform all of my impersonations since I see him a lot on the coffee programme. I’ve seen Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, his most recent movie, five or six times. I adore his presentation and his body of work. I want to apologise to him if my actions caused him any harm. I didn’t mean to do him any harm. I just intended to amuse the crowd, but if I went above and beyond, I apologise to him.”

Karan most likely only saw the promo and not the entire programme, according to Kettan. “After seeing the episode, I’d want to see how people and Karan sir respond. I hope not to insult you, sir. Not many artists imitate Karan, sir. A few years back, I used to do it on The Kapil Sharma Show. It was my first time doing it on Madness Machayenge. He answered, “Aside from my apologies, I have nothing else on my mind.

The post by Karan Johar

“I was sitting and watching television with my mum… and saw a promo of a reality comedy show on a supposedly respectable channel… a comic was mimicking me in exceptionally poor taste,” captioned Karan Johar’s Instagram post. I anticipate this from trolls and anonymous individuals, but it says volumes about the times we live in when someone in your own field can treat someone who has over 25 years of experience with disdain. This doesn’t even enrage me; it simply makes me sad.”
