First image of Prabhas from Project K was changed after outrage, including Twitter comments that it “looks like a fan-made poster.”
The world of cinema is often marked by high expectations and passionate fandom, and South Indian superstar Prabhas’s latest project, Project K, was no exception. The actor’s first look from the movie was met with mixed reactions, with Twitterati expressing their outrage and criticism. The initial poster faced considerable backlash, with many claiming that it resembled a “fan-made poster” rather than an official teaser. Responding swiftly to the uproar, the filmmakers decided to revamp the first look, offering a glimpse of Prabhas in a more befitting avatar, much to the delight of his fans.
The Anticipation Builds
Project K, one of the most eagerly awaited films of the year, generated significant anticipation long before its first look release. As a pan-Indian project, fans from all corners of the country were eagerly awaiting a glimpse of their favorite actor, Prabhas, in this new venture. The expectations were sky-high, given the actor’s past successes and the intriguing teaser announcements.
The Initial Reveal: A Fan-Made Critique
When the initial first look of Project K hit the internet, it seemed to have polarized the fans and critics alike. While some praised the film’s attempt to present Prabhas in a different light, the majority expressed their displeasure, claiming that the poster resembled a fan-made creation rather than an official reveal. The primary point of contention was the lack of finesse and the use of certain elements that appeared incongruous with Prabhas’s stature as a superstar.
Twitter Outrage and the Voice of Fans
As expected, Twitter became the battleground for passionate fans to express their opinions about the first look. Hashtags criticizing the poster started trending rapidly, with fans demanding a better representation of their beloved actor in the movie’s promotional materials. The filmmakers couldn’t ignore the overwhelming response and decided to heed the call of their audience.
The Revamped First Look: Redemption Achieved
Acknowledging the importance of audience feedback and understanding the significance of getting it right, the team behind Project K took immediate action. Within days of the initial release, they unveiled a revamped first look, ensuring that it reflected the grandeur and aura befitting Prabhas’s on-screen presence. This time, the poster exuded a sense of magnificence and mystique, promising an epic cinematic experience for the audience.
Fan Reactions: From Outrage to Elation
The response to the revamped first look was overwhelmingly positive, with fans expressing their elation and gratitude for the filmmakers’ willingness to listen and respond. The new poster showcased Prabhas in an enigmatic avatar, hinting at the movie’s potential to deliver a captivating and unforgettable performance.
Learning from the Experience
The episode surrounding Project K’s first look serves as a valuable lesson for the film industry. It highlights the significance of engaging with fans and actively considering their opinions, especially in an era where social media holds immense power to shape narratives. The incident demonstrates that filmmakers can benefit greatly by fostering a collaborative relationship with their audience, creating a win-win situation for both parties.
The journey of Project K’s first look from criticism to redemption exemplifies the power of fandom and the need for filmmakers to embrace the voice of their audience. Prabhas’s popularity and the intense anticipation surrounding the movie played a significant role in igniting the initial outrage on Twitter. However, the filmmakers’ swift response and their willingness to rectify their mistake salvaged the situation, reinforcing the bond between the star and his dedicated fanbase. With the controversy behind them, the excitement for Project K has now been reignited, promising a remarkable cinematic experience for audiences eager to witness Prabhas’s magic on the silver screen once again.

Cannes 2024: On his debut, Prateik Patil Babbar becomes emotional at Mother Smita Patil’s Manthan screening.
Cannes 2024: For those who are unaware, actor Prateik Patil Babbar, who starred in Ekk Deewana Tha, is the son of Raj Babbar and the late actress Smita Patil. Additionally, Smita Patil, the mother of the actor, will receive recognition at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, where her film Manthan will be screened. Prateik will also be walking the red carpet at Cannes for the first time this year. The actor responds before making his red carpet debut on how thrilled he is to be seeing his mother’s film play at the largest film festival. For Prateik, the occasion is “very symbolic,” he says. See what else he has to say about his mother, let’s investigate.
Prateik Patil Babbar’s Reaction to Mother Smita Patil’s Cannes 2024 Film Screening
Manthan, a 1976 film starring Smita Patel, will be shown at the Cannes Classics section. “My mother is going to be celebrated,” Prateik declares as he boards a plane to France to attend the largest film festival on the planet for his mother’s film. It’s a significant occasion for my family and me. Particularly for me, it has great symbolic meaning. I’m a really happy son.” He continues by saying, “This moment reminds me of how amazing a woman she us and how I am lucky to be her son.”
A few days prior, Prateik learned that Manthan was being screened. Fortunately, his visa came two days ago. So he bought the tickets to France and put all his work on wait. Prateik recalled that Manthan was a crowd-funded movie, with each farmer contributing two rupees to its production. “I always knew about it,” Prateik added. I used to hear my grandmother and aunt recount the film’s creation tale. As my grandpa was a farmer as well, I was always encouraged to take pride in my ancestry.” He said, “Also, I revisit my mom’s films very frequently, it’s like watching FRIENDS for me- you know what’s going to happen next, but you keep watching.”
Note that Prateik will be walking the red carpet at Cannes for the first time. In social media, Prateik shares a picture of his mother from the movie Manthan, writing, “The legacy continues.. 37 years since she left.. & yet she never ceases to blow my mind.” recalling the visage of her mother, Prateik wrote, “seeing her face at the #2024 ‘cannes film festival’ 37 years after her death.. on a #1976 film poster of her film ‘manthan’ restored for a world premiere in the ‘cannes classics section’ will be one of the most symbolic & iconic celebratory moments of my life.. & her legacy.. (for me).”
