In a recent episode of The Cutting Room Floor podcast, hosted by Recho Omondi, Law Roach, Zendaya’s longtime personal stylist, disclosed that when she first started her career, major fashion firms turned her down.
“When I would write to Dior, Valentino, Gucci, Saint Laurent, and Chanel, they would all reply, ‘No, try again next year.’” She is very green. Our calendar doesn’t include her,” Roach recollected. “I still own every receipt. Everything is still with me.

Designers’ perceptions of clothes did not shift until Zendaya became well-known, making her debut at the Met Gala at the age of eighteen and landing her first American Vogue cover two years later. Law stated that their first hesitation will always be remembered.
