One thing that Ratna Pathak Shah likes, detests, and can put up with about her husband Naseeruddin Shah
When making public appearances, Ratna Pathak Shah and Naseeruddin Shah never hesitate to speak honestly and candidly. The pair recently went to the Cannes Film Festival and strolled along the red carpet. The Cannes Classics segment there was restoring Manthan, starring Naseeruddin. Ratna now revealed what she likes, dislikes, and can put up with about him in an interview with Brut India.

Ratna spoke the words, “Oh boy! combined into one? Tolerate, detest, love, or none at all? Or is it possible for it to be separate? Love his intense passion for acting. In that, I am able to tolerate, love, and detest all three. Mostly love, as it’s a truly unique quality. Naseer is genuinely indifferent to anything save the performance and preparation for it. I have not observed this particular attitude in others. I am literally saying this after giving it some thought. Although I haven’t observed anybody with this level of attention, it is difficult to live with.
Ratna also mentioned how the film industry’s culture has evolved since the 1970s during that same meeting. “Much less hierarchy and much more professionalism,” she stated. That’s one thing I’m really content with. On a set, the hierarchy is less obvious. Cast and crew are no longer two totally sealed compartments. There is a lot of overlap.

Ratna debuted as an actress in Mandi, directed by Shyam Benegal. Later on, she starred in well-known films like Attack, Dhak Dhak, Lipstick Under My Burkha, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, Golmaal 3, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, Kapoor & Sons, and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. Her performance of Maya Sarabhai in Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai (2004–2006) won her acclaim.

Rajkummar Rao reveals why Patralekhaa put sindoor on him at wedding: ‘We weren’t comfortable with some of the rituals’
Rajkummar Rao has addressed the viral moment where Patralekhaa put sindoor on his forehead at their 2021 wedding.
Rajkummar Rao has opened up about the unusual incident from his 2021 wedding to Patralekhaa, where she put sindoor (vermillion) on his forehead instead of the other way around. In an interview with Mojo Story, Rajkummar addressed the moment when Patralekhaa applied the sindoor to his forehead and said, “At that moment it was very impulsive, I felt why is it just her wearing the sindoor, mangalsutra and chooda? I thought she had to wear and do so much, what I am doing? I was just wearing the ring. I just asked her, ‘You should also put sindoor on me. It should be equal’.” Rajkummar said that Patralekha was ‘overwhelmed’ at that moment, and though it became huge later, they didn’t think it was anything ‘out of the box’.
Rajkummar on wanting to know the meaning behind rituals
The actor added that he and Patralekhaa were uncomfortable with some of the rituals, particularly the vachans (vows) the bride has to take. “Even during our pheras, we wanted to know what was the Pandit ji saying? We asked him the meaning behind every mantra. We weren’t comfortable with some of the vachans that Patralekha had to take. For instance, there was one vachan which said that she can’t get angry at me and I was like this one is not happening, it’s not valid,” the actor added.
Rajkummar and Patralekha met in 2010 while trying to make a mark in the industry. They shot a music video together and began dating soon after. The couple tied the knot on November 15, 2021 in Chandigarh. They recently celebrated their third wedding anniversary.
