To reduce tensions across communities, the Karnataka government has banned the release of Hamare Baarah.

The film ‘Hamare Baarah’ cannot be released or aired in the state of Karnataka for a period of two weeks, or until the government issues an order.

Sections 15(1) and 15(5) of the Karnataka Cinema Regulations Act 1964 are in compliance with the decision.

The release of ‘Hamare Baarah’ was accused by the Karnataka government of inciting communal strife in the state. Authorities saw the trailer and took demands from a number of minority delegations and organisations into consideration before making this decision.

The film was supposed to be released nationwide on June 7, 2024. The overpopulation subject of Hamare Baarah has drawn notice due to its daring storyline. Starring are Paritosh Tripathi, Manoj Joshi, and Annu Kapoor.

The producers, who had made substantial investments in the film’s development and distribution, were deeply troubled by the imposition of the stay.

This legal roadblock surfaced as a result of a petition that certain religious community organisers filed to oppose the film’s distribution. Produced in collaboration with Sheo Balak Singh, Sanjay Nagpal, Ravi S. Gupta, and Birender Bhagat, it is directed by Kamal Chandra.

In a previous interview, Annu Kapoor discussed the film and the threats he had received.
