Alia checks out Ajay’s Rolls-Royce, fans wonder if she asked about mileage

Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn got together on Wednesday to promote their upcoming film Gangubai Kathiawadi. Ajay also showed Alia his Rolls Royce.

A video of Alia checking Ajay’s car was shared on the paparazzi account. Alia, in a white sari, peeks gleefully inside the car, while Ajay, in a black T-shirt and beige pants, stands next to her.

Many fans found the video “cute” and wondered if Alia asked Ajay about the mileage. One fan commented: “Alia’s last question to him was ‘yeh kitna deti hai? (what’s the mileage)’?” Another Instagram user humorously wrote: “Wish she was asking ‘mileage kitna’ deti hai’.” One fan added, “Wow… Ye hui na dosto wali baat (wow… that’s what a friend looks like).”

Applejack’s movie character poster was revealed the same day. In the poster, the actor is wearing a white shirt and cream trousers with a khaki blazer, Nehru hat and sunglasses, standing in front of a vintage car. Ajay shared it on Instagram, writing: “Apni pehchaan se chaar chaand lagane, aa rahe hai hum! (I’m here to add a special touch to my personality).”

Gangubai Kathiawadi unites Ajay with filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali after 22 years. The pair last worked together in the 1999 film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, which also starred Aishwarya Rai and Salman Khan.

Alia plays the titular role in Gangubai Kathiawadi, one of the most powerful, beloved and respected ladies from Kamathipura, Mumbai’s red light district, in the 1960s. This period drama is based on one of the chapters in the book Queen of the Mumbai Mafia by renowned author Hussain Zaidi. The film also stars Vijay Raaz, Indira Tiwari and Seema Pahwa and is produced by Bhansali and Jayantilal Gada (Pen Studios).

Gangubai Kathiawadi will have its long-awaited world premiere on February 25, 2022 at the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival.
