Anil, Neetu, Kiara, and Varun promise a family reunion in Jugjugg Jeeyo’s first look

The first posters for Karan Johar’s film Jugjugg Jeeyo have finally been released. On the posters, the lead actors Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Kiara Advani, and Varun Dhawan are dressed up in wedding attire. Kiara shared a teaser video with several stills from the movie, including the cast dressed in wedding attire.

“Ladies and gentlemen, my parivaar!” Kiara captioned the video on Instagram. Are you ready for a family gathering unlike any other? With us, you get a little bit of everything: surprises, chaos, masti, and emotions!”

The tagline for the film is “A family reunion full of surprises.” Prajakta Koli and Maniesh Paul are also in the cast, according to two posters. The posters were shared by Karan with the caption, “Come, join our family! A true family entertainer is on its way to you, full of emotions and love. On the 24th of June, see you at the movies!”

The lead cast is dressed in white ethnic ensembles in the first poster. The second poster features them dressed similarly to the first, but with Anil and Varun flexing their muscles and Kiara and Neetu standing together and holding hands. Kiara is seated in the centre of the third poster, wearing a short pink dress. Varun and Anil in shimmery party wear flank her on either side, with Neetu, Maniesh, and Prajakta standing behind them. The fourth poster depicts them all dressed up for their wedding.

The film was finished last year, with a portion of it shot in Chandigarh. Both Neetu and Varun tested positive for novel coronavirus during the shoot. Jugjugg Jeeyo, directed by Raj Mehta, is also Neetu’s first film since the death of her actor husband Rishi Kapoor. Besharam, a 2013 film starring their son Ranbir Kapoor, featured the couple.

Family Star review

The Hindustan Times’ review of the movie Family Star, starring Vijay Deverakonda and directed by Parasuram Petla, suggests that the film struggles to make a mark or entertain, with issues reminiscent of Geetha Govindam (2018). The film tests patience and fails to maintain interest as it progresses.

The review criticizes the plot of Family Star, stating that it is thin and defies logic, making it difficult to enjoy. It also suggests that the film’s portrayal of middle-class life is caricaturish, as if it was written by someone unfamiliar with the realities of such a life.
