Arvind Kejriwal will meet with Delhi legislators to discuss how to combat “bulldozer politics”
Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi chief minister and national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has called a meeting of the party’s Delhi MLAs for Monday morning to discuss the three BJP-run municipal corporations’ alleged “bulldozer politics,” according to party leaders familiar with the situation.
According to them, the AAP is planning a political counter-offensive. The meeting was originally scheduled for Saturday, but was cancelled due to the Mundka fire.
The AAP claims that the three civic bodies’ current anti-encroachment drive is “selective and targeting the poor,” while encroachments committed by BJP leaders are unaffected.
The “bulldozer politics” has sparked a new feud between the AAP and the BJP, with Manish Sisodia, the deputy chief minister, urging Union home minister Amit Shah to halt further demolitions in the Capital until investigations into civic officials are completed.
