Bengaluru Airport City appoints DP Architects Singapore & Portland Design UK
Bangalore Airport City Co., Ltd. (BACL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bangalore International Airport Co., Ltd. (BIAL), has appointed DP Architects Singapore and Portland Design UK as architectural consultants for the integrated retail-dining-entertainment (RDE) village project.
Developed as part of the airport city. This state-of-the-art project will be strategically located adjacent to the concert hall and convention center. The project will be developed on 23 acres of land with a construction area of more than 1.1 million square feet. It will serve as a mid-to-high-end shopping and lifestyle destination to meet the growing needs of Bangalore’s market segment. It is expected that the BMTC bus service and the upcoming subway line will promote connectivity with the RDE village.
BACL stated in its press release: “With the help of technology, RDE Village will become a shopping mall designed to lead the trend by attracting customers in various retail, catering and entertainment formats. Regular retail will be accompanied by frequent pop-up incubators.
The dining experience will cover a variety of local cuisines led by international chefs, and the sensory experience of shopping centers of different age groups will encourage longer stays and ensure repeat visits. Kempegowda International Airport has witnessed amazing growth in the past few years , Becoming one of the fastest growing airports in the world. The airport welcomed 33.65 million passengers at the end of the 2019 calendar year.” Rao Munukutla, CEO of BACL said: “The vision of RDE Village is to create a new destination deeply connected to the community, culture and environment, focusing on human-centered design.
This is reflected in our overall innovation-oriented design sensitivity. And combined with the characteristics of sustainable development.”

The Adani Enterprises unit has received a letter of approval for an NH project in Maharashtra
Adani Road Transport Ltd (ARTL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Enterprises, has received LoA for a project involving six laning of Kagal-Satara section of NH-48 (old NH4) in Maharashtra. The project will be executed under the Bharatmala Pariyojana at ₹2,008.47 crores. The construction period for the 67-km long road project is expected to be 2 years from the date of appointment and the concession period will be 18 years.
With this project award, Adani’s road portfolio will have total 14 projects with more than 5,000 lane km with asset value exceeding ₹41,000 crore spread across India.
